This one-of-a-kind spiral spoon ring is handcrafted from an original R Wallace & Sons sterling silver teaspoon in the Violet pattern, first produced in 1904. The silver has been carefully reshaped into an open spiral form that celebrates both the beauty of the vintage design and the natural movement of the metal.

The Violet pattern is known for its elegant floral detailing, inspired by delicate blooms and flowing leaves. In this spiral style, the pattern remains on full display, wrapping gently around the finger and catching the light from every angle. The open-ended design adds a modern touch while allowing the original craftsmanship to remain the star.

Each ring is formed by hand in my Adelaide Hills studio using traditional silversmithing techniques. The silver is slowly forged and refined, with smooth inner edges for comfortable wear and a polished exterior that highlights the intricate detail of the pattern. Every curve reflects the history of the spoon and the care taken in its transformation.

This piece is a thoughtful example of spoon jewellery, offering a sustainable alternative to newly mined silver. By repurposing vintage sterling silver, the ring preserves a piece of early twentieth-century craftsmanship while giving it a new purpose as wearable art.
